Prepress

The pre-press department is responsible for all activities beginning when the client and the Midtown CSR collaborate to generate an order and the time the printing process begins. This includes gathering the files from the customers disk, emailed files, FTP’d files or files retrieved from our archives. The files are prepared for printing, checked for CMYK/RGB, proper resolution and font accessibility. The pre-press operators then generate a proof and submit it to the client for approval and/or changes. After the approval is given the files are imposed and either sent to the appropriate digital device or the platemaking department for further processing. This approval is the first of many quality control check points throughout the entire production process.
