Samples of Die Cutting

Die cutting is used to cut paper into shapes that can’t be obtained on a regular guillotine paper cutter.  Simple shapes include round cornered business cards, door hangers, windows in report covers, Rolodex cards and much more.  Sometimes the die cutting is combined with scoring to facilitate clean folds when producing pocket folders, boxes, CD sleeves and similar products. Scoring is used alone to help make clean folds on heavy cover stock. Intricate cut/score dies are used to make invitations and pop-ups.  Different knives are used to cut faux deckle edges, zigzag cuts and zip strips on envelopes.
